When you enjoy 4x4 off roading, it is more likely than not that you are going to get your vehicle stuck at some point. When that happens, it is much better to be knowledgeable than to depend on lady luck. The following paragraphs will discuss how to get your 4x4 off roading vehicle un-stuck should it happen.
There are several ways your 4x4 off roading vehicle can get stuck out there. It may get stuck on a log in the road, or a tree stump you fail to see. Mud is sometimes plays a role in ATV's getting stuck while off roading, as do rocks. The first thing you should do if your vehicle becomes stuck is to survey the situation, and determine the best way to get your ATV un-stuck without damaging it. For example, if you're off road vehicle is stuck on something that can be moved, jacking up the vehicle and moving the object would be your best method of action.
If your 4x4 vehicle is stuck on something that cannot be moved, it's an entirely different story. If you can jack up your off road vehicle, you should do just that. Then fill in the area under the tires so that you may be able to drive over the obstacle with more ease. If that doesn't work, let some of the air out of the tires on your off roading vehicle. However, do not forget to re-inflate them before you go back to on road driving. Also, you should always remember that when you deflate your tires, your vehicle will sit lower. You will not have the same clearance as you do when your tires are fully inflated. By following these tips, you should be prepared in the event you get stuck while off roading.
